Squat to Reach the Sky

Attend this workshop to learn how your body’s natural intelligence can help you squat down more easily and rise up even taller with a spring in your step!

Squatting can help us maintain and improve our core and low body strength, our flexibility, posture, coordination, balance, and even circulation.  A body toned by squatting is less prone to injury.  However, in our modern urban lifestyle we don't squat much. As we age, we tend to lose our strength and flexibility. Getting up and down from the floor and chairs may become difficult.  

In this workshop for movers and teachers of Pilates and we will learn to squat and rise up again properly, safely and with greater ease.  We will learn helpful exercises to release restricted joints and tone our bodies.  We will learn ways to move more easily when getting up and down from a chair and the floor.


Our learning approach will use the 3Core Connections® Embodied Perspective.  This perspective, developed by Pilates and movement expert Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle, teaches us that moving with whole body core coordination helps us move more efficiently and with decreased tension. We will discover how both our breathing and sensing our relationships to gravity and the space around us support our movement.  Movement becomes energizing and joyful.
